Ever since Airbnb announced that rent-a-room relief couldn’t be applied to income from hosting, many people have been obliged to file their first ever tax return.

Filing a tax return can be daunting when you don’t know what you’re doing. That’s why a lot of people chose to use Taxback.com. One such person was David Moloney, pictured. He got in touch with us to file his Airbnb tax return. Airbnb Tax Return Customer

Our Kilkenny Tax Team were on hand to go through David’s income and to review any allowable expenses associated with the hosting activity that could be used to off-set his tax liability.

Speaking about his experience, David said: “Brian and Julie completed my taxes for me and were extremely professional and accommodating. I had started hosting on Airbnb in 2014 and needed to file the required tax returns and they ran me through the process and all the available deductibles in a simple and straightforward way.

“Their process for completing the tax filings is set up in a way that makes the whole process as easy as possible and they provide everything you need to take the hassle out of it for you. They provide good reminders to keep the process moving in order to get it completed as quickly as possible and are more than willing to answer all questions. I appreciate the quick and friendly service.”

  • Additional insurance taken out
  • Commission to Airbnb
  • Maintenance fees for cleaning, repairing and decorating the property
  • Accounting and management fees.
  • Capital allowances
