If you worked in any of these countries, you could be due a Tax Refund

Seasons Greetings from taxback.com!

It's been an extremely busy year for the team here! Between budgets and blizzards, Ireland has had what can only be described as a turbulent 2010.

Across the pond, UK tax payers were hit with blunder after blunder, and further changes  are set to make 2011 a landmark year for HMRC in terms of tax policy and simplification. The fall out following the National Audit Office report is set to make tax reform top of the government's agenda.

In Australia, debates over mining tax have raged throughout the year. And outside of the political climate, a number of our markets have been rocked by events.  In New Zealand, commiserations went out to the family and friends of the 29 miners who perished after a second explosion in the Pike River mine. Earthquakes had already hit the country earlier in the year. And rolling back to the very start of the year, who can forget the world's reaction when an earthquake ravaged Haiti, and scenes of the disaster were broadcast all over the global media.

But away from natural disasters and unnatural budgets, there were good news stories too! In Chile, celebrations spread across the world when 33 miners  were rescued after being trapped for 69 days when the mine collapsed. South Africa hosted a fantastically successful World Cup, and the sound of vuvuzelas are still ringing in our ears!

From everyone at taxback.com, we wish all our partners and customers a fantastic holiday season. And here's to 2011...whatever it brings!
