A number of people have reported that they have received SMS messages from an individual or organization that is purporting to be Revenue.

The SMS reads - ‘ROS.ie: We are glad to inform you that your tax return is ready to be claimed. Claim now’.

Please note that this is a scam and YOU SHOULD NOT PRESS THE LINK.

Revenue never sends emails or text messages requiring people to send their personal information over email, text or by any other unsecure means.

If you receive an email or SMS and you think it is fraudulent you should: 

  • Never click into the link or attachment provided. It may contain harmful viruses that can access your computer or phone and take your personal information
  • Never reply 
  • Delete the message
