All fundraising tasks are worthwhile, but some are harder than others – that’s why when we heard one of our partners was undertaking a 1000km cycle for charity, we really felt he deserved sponsorship.
Over the last week, Andrew Coldbeck, who works with our partner The Jobshop Australia, undertook a gruelling 1000km cycle (yes, one thousand kilometers) from Mt. Gambier to Adelaide to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House.
Ronald McDonald House is an incredible charity that assists sick children and their families through numerous initiatives including their Learning Programme, Family Retreat Programme, Grants Programme and many more. Since opening in 1981 they have helped more than 100,000 families and with the help of charitable donations, will go on to help thousands more.
Kristen Hardy who works with the organisation praised the riders saying ‘Your hard work and commitment to make this ride such a success was extraordinary… I hope you all understand what a difference you have made.’
Linda Pitt, whose family is supported by Ronald McDonald House, said ‘seeing first hand how hard the riders had to push themselves, the extreme weather changes they endured, and how hard the support crew worked I am truly humbled. I cannot believe these people did this for families like ours. Thank you just does not seem enough... we will forever be grateful for your support.’
Well done to Andrew and all the other participants for their support and dedication to this important charity. If you'd like to learn more about Ronald McDonald click here.
