The Taxback Group makes donation to Muscular Dystrophy Ireland

12 June 2012

DonationIn June 2012, The Taxback Group made a donation of €1,500 to Muscular Dystrophy Ireland (MDI). MDI is a charity which provides support for people and their families who are living with muscular dystrophy.

Muscular dystrophy (MD) is a collective term for a range of neuromuscular conditions. It is characterised by the progressive weakening and wasting of muscles.

The Taxback Group added the donation to the proceeds of the Lorcan Dowd Memorial Cycle that took part in Kilkenny in April. Lorcan Dowd was born and lived in Kilkenny. He had Duchene Muscular Dystrophy and lived live to the full until he died in 2002 at the age of 22.

Lorcan’s friends and family organised the cycle to support other young people affected by the disease. The total of €11,000 raised from the cycle is a significant boost to the charity.

Simon Dowd, Catriona Hurley and Sinead Fitzmaurice from The Taxback Group presented the cheque to Muscular Dystrophy Ireland.
