Art therapy for sick children

30 September 2014

This year, Taxback.com continued its tradition of sponsoring an art therapy programme for sick children, in Varna, Bulgaria.

Since 2011, we’ve been providing art therapy for the patients in the children’s haematology and oncology ward in the St. Marina University Hospital. The ARTON programme organises for artists and psychologists to work with the children on their chosen type of art, whether it be painting, puppet-making or drawing.

Many of the children are battling serious illness so the art therapy can provide an important outlet for them to express their emotions and distract from the treatment they are receiving.

Our support of the ARTON programme fits in with our corporate social responsibility theme of ‘play’. Through this initiative we provide art, music and sports to children who would otherwise not be able to avail of such opportunities. We’re delighted to be helping these children.
