Taxback.com raises 6000 EUR for ISPCC

14 July 2011

/resources/image/news/sm_388.jpgOur 10K Kilkenny Run took place on Saturday 9th July with over 250 people walking, running and jogging to raise over €6,000 for the ISPCC. There were some exceptional running performances on the day and every single person who took part helped to make the event a great success.

Tommy Evans was the first man to cross the finish-line with an impressive time of 30 minutes and 15 seconds. Not too far behind him was Linda Byrne who took the honours for the women with a time of 33 minutes and 53 seconds.

Taxback.com CEO Terry Clune, said the event was a great opportunity to benefit the charity and boost the local economy, “ISPCC provides an invaluable service for Irish children so we were delighted to have held an event that raised much-needed funds for this charity.”  Terry continued, “Kilkenny is a great place and this type of sports event is an ideal showcase for the city. The race brought a lot of visitors to the city and we hope that it becomes a highlight in the country’s annual sporting calendar.”

Speaking at the event, Anne Cooney ISPCC Corporate Fundraising Manager said, “We are delighted to have the support of Taxback.com and the funds raised from today’s race will help the ISPCC reach out to, and support, some of the most vulnerable children in Ireland.  Every euro raised helps us work with more children to build better, brighter futures.  I would like to thank Taxback.com, all the participants in today’s race and everyone who supported the event for the wonderful support they are giving to the ISPCC”.

According to Sinead Gill, Communications Manager with taxback.com, “The race attracted a great mix of people and we’re very grateful to everyone who came along on the day and did their bit for ISPCC. The local community came out in force to support the event and there was a great atmosphere there on the day. Everyone who took part should be very proud of themselves. We’re delighted to have raised money for such a good cause.”
