If you worked in any of these countries, you could be due a Tax Refund

Short delay on Oz tax refunds says ATO

The Australian tax refunds have been coming in thick and fast. In fact, there has been a staggering $1.45 billion paid out in just four short weeks. We’re pretty envious at the thought of how many people are currently pondering on what to spend their money on.

If it is was us, we’d be torn between doing the sensible thing and clearing our credit card bill or else just doing something less sensible and a lot more fun like taking off somewhere for the weekend with a few mates.

Anyway, aside from the thousands of lucky folk whose money has already hit their bank accounts, there are a good few still waiting. We make it our business to be in touch with the ATO as often as is probably verging on annoying but are constantly asking them to move our customers up the queue.

The latest update we got is that some people are facing a bit of a delay in receiving their refunds. It’s pretty annoying for them but we have to thank our customers for being lovely and patient and not shooting the messenger when we inform them of the ATO delay.

It’s inevitable, really, when you think of how big an influx of 2012 Oz tax refunds has poured in since the tax year ended on 30th June. A whopping 1.7 million returns have been lodged in the last month so it’s a lot to get through.

Keep the faith folks. If you haven’t received your Australian tax refund, you should within the next couple of weeks. And if you haven’t yet applied, the average Oz tax refund is $2500 so get applying today.
