Our retained funds charge

What is it?

Retained funds are the balance of the funds standing to the credit of the customer after the deduction of all Taxback fees and charges as well as all other funds received on behalf of customers and maintained in Taxback’s bank account.

The fee

Taxback will charge a fee of €5 per month on retained funds. These charges commence seven days after Taxback have made four emails and two phone call attempts to the customer’s email address and telephone number (as provided by the customer), within the minimum period of minimum 4 weeks and the customer has failed to respond to Taxback or provide our team with details of a valid bank account where their monies can be transferred in a timely manner.

The retained funds charge of €5 per month will be applied each month thereafter until the customer provides Taxback with the relevant bank details or the balance is reduced to zero, whichever occurs first.

If, after a period of 3 years, a balance remains and the customer has failed to respond to Taxback (or has failed to furnish a valid bank account to Taxback) and enable Taxback to transfer the balance to the customer and the balance of the refund is less than €200, the balance of the retained funds will be charged as an additional administrative fee.

If the balance of the refund is more than €200, an additional administrative fee of €200 will be charged by Taxback each year thereafter, in addition to the monthly retained fee charge, until the customer furnishes the relevant bank details to Taxback or the balance is reduced to zero, whichever occurs first.

Exceptions

Finally, where customers:

  • refuse to receive the balance of the funds after deduction of all fees and charges
  • or have supplied invalid contact details
  • or refuse to be contacted either by email or a phone call

A charge of €5 per month will be applied each month thereafter until the customer furnishes the relevant bank details to Taxback or the balance is reduced to zero, whichever occurs first.
